Dr. John A. Furrey has been serving the surgical needs of SouthCoast patients since 1988. Dr. Furrey received his Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame in 1970 and his M.D. from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1974. He completed his surgical residencies at N.J. College of Medicine in General Surgery. His Plastic surgery residency was completed at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Penn State University. He is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery with added qualification in hand surgery.

He performs hundreds of aesthetic and reconstructive operations yearly. We operate at a fully accredited free standing outpatient surgical center, as well as our local community hospital outpatient surgery center.

Practice Philosophy:
My practice philosophy is to educate the patients about their condition so that we may make informed decisions together. I only perform procedures that I feel are within my ability and training. After the surgery, I see the patients often so that the best result can be achieved. I want patients to know I care and to be happy with the care they receive.
